The Israeli diamond industry has known many ups and downs over the years. Nevertheless, over time, it established it self as a world leader.
Israel also took a major part in the Kimberly process, fighting blood diamonds. It was decided in the 2008 Kimberly assembly in New Delhi that Israel will hold the position of chairman of the prestigious process in 2010.
